Market Place Europe Limited which organises the famous Continental Markets at Belfast City Hall has been invited to organise an International market at this years Relentless North West 200 Motor Cycle Event for the very first time. The International Market will feature in the park area at Metropole Corner from the 12th – 16th May 2010.

Take a World Tour of food and fancies at the North West Continental Market
Traders from as far afield as the USA, Thailand, China, India, Egypt, Russia, South Africa and even Peru will be joining their European counterparts from France, Germany, Belgium, Holland, Italy, Spain, Poland, Greece and Finland to bring this International Market Festival.
The International flavour will include such traders as the “Mad Yanks” selling the hugely popular Pandora Beads and Bracelets, a unique collection of Russian Dolls, Jari Makella will be travelling all the way from Lapland to sell his traditional Finnish and Lapish knitwear, a range of Lappish crafts and deerskins, Chinese and Thai products including crafts, gifts, jewellery and floral arrangements as well as some mouth watering Thai foods, and if that’s not enough Indian Chef Bansil will be cooking up some of his spicy curries along with some of the best Samosa’s you will ever taste. To finish off the World tour you can try some of the rare and exotic meats and burgers from South Africa including Crocodile, Impala, Wild Boar and Ostrich. From the middle East there will be Baklava and Mid Eastern Sweet Cakes plus a great selection of dried fruits and nuts and finally from Kenya a fantastic range wooden artefacts, carvings and furniture.
The market will also feature some old favourites such as Henri with some great Dutch Cheeses, Waffles, Cakes and Liquorice as well as those famous mini Dutch Pancakes with lashings of cream and a fantastic assortments of toppings.
French Traders
From France there will be a great selection of Olives, Cheeses, Sun Dried Tomatoes, Anchovies, a fantastic selection of Dried Sausage, and one of the best traditional French Patisseries from Brittany you will ever see. Watch pastry chef Luis making and baking those mouth watering French tarts each day and there will be the traditional French crepes. Also from France there is a new fashion stall with a great range of pachminas, hats and scarves along with a new trader a specialist stall selling products from the Savoir Mountain region of France.
German Traders
The German contingent will include the fantastic German Bar with its great range of German and Continental Beers so while the chaps browse the stalls the ladies can relax and enjoy a quiet drink, Karl Heinz will be their with his traditional Schwenkegrille where you can try his huge Bratwurst, the German Salami and Sausage house, and on the non food side of the German offer will be Svarovski Crystal, Crystals and Jewellery.
Other Speciality Stalls
Other speciality stalls from around Europe include from Belgium there will be Macaroons baked regularly throughout the day, and the Ginger Bread House stacked with Belgian Chocolates, Designer Cakes smothered in Belgian chocolate and traditional sweets and fudge. Some other favourites from the Belfast Markets include George the Greek - George from Pila in Thessaloniki will bring his unique Greek Deli where you can find some of the best Greek Breads, Taramasalata, Humous, Olives and stuffed vine leaves (dolmades), and Jimmy Beans will be back with what is probably the biggest selection of flavoured coffee beans which he will grind to your liking and his large selection of different and exotic teas. So those who really love their coffee and tea now is your chance to buy some very unusual flavours. From Poland there will be Polish Amber Jewellery – watch out for the oldest green amber.
Local Traders
The market will also include many local traders from Northern Ireland who have been involved with the Continental Market for a number of years.

There is something for all the family and with the German bar which will have all day entertainments you can sit and enjoy a relaxing drink in between browsing for that something different and tasting your way around the world.
