The North West 200 today announced that leading local cancer charity Action Cancer is the 2010 nominated charity for Ireland’s most famous Road Race – the International North West 200. The announcement of this one year partnership will generate over £20,000 for Action Cancer and significantly raise the profile and understanding of male cancers in particular.
NW200 Business Manager, Laura McManus said, “Each year we have a large number of charities who express interest in becoming the Charity Partner of the International North West 200, and after a long selection process we are delighted to announce Action Cancer as the nominated charity for out 2010 event. The work in raising awareness of cancer that Action Cancer do is incredibly important, and we are delighted to be able to offer them a platform to promote their new campaigns, such as the Action Man initiative which highlights the importance of screening for men. We have high hopes for gaining maximum exposure for the charity and helping them reach their fundraising target!”

We need partners to help Action Cancer meet its vision, to raise vital funds and, just as importantly, increase awareness of the importance of early detection, prevention and support for those at risk of cancer in Northern Ireland.”
