Awards/Competitions won:

2004 Irish supersport champion, 2005 Irish superbike champion, 2006 Irish supersport & superbike champion, 2008 NW200 superstock winner & Mondello Masters champion, 2009 British superstock 1000 champion & Irish superbike champion & NW200 superstock winner, 2010 NW200 supersport & superbike winner & rookie of the year in the british superbike series finishing 6th.

Starting out: I have always been brought up around bikes as my dad Joe, used to race them. I raced Moto-X from 1994 to 1997 and was quite successful at that and it gave me a good start.  I achieved 1st position in the 1996 Norman Watt Championship, 2nd in the Ulster Grass Championship and 3rd in 1997 in the Norman Watt Championship.  Total race wins were 30.

After a few years of pubs, clubs & women my dad mentioned trying out short circuit racing and I thought “Why Not? I'll have a go!”. My dad purchased a 1994 Honda 125 in June 2000 and I arrived at Nutts Corner in July 2000 for my first race.

The road to success: I raced in Ireland for 7 years and always hoped i would get the opportunity to race in the BSB series. I kept training hard and got many championships at home but it wasn't until 2007 that i got my first taste of BSB action. I have Neil Haslam of NCT/Vanfit Yamaha to thank for giving me a year in superstock 1000 class and introduce me to the UK circuits. I ran my own team in 2008 in the same class but also rode for Millsport Yamaha in Ireland at short circuit meetings and the NW200. 2009 has been the best year to date, a dream season. I joined Relentless Suzuki by TAS Racing at the 2nd round of the Superstock 1000 championship and went on to win 9 races and clinch the title. I also won the superstock race at the NW200. All that was on board the new K9 GSXR1000 Suzuki. In 2010 i was catapulted into the main superbike class and it was a really enjoyable year, i got the teams first superbike podium at Brands Indy first round, i won the supersport and main superbike race at the NW200, i acheived my maiden british superbike win at Brands Hatch GP circuit, i made the final 6 riders to go into the shootout over the final 3 rounds. For 2011 i will be racing in british supersport on board the all new GSXR600 and i'm really excited about the challenge ahead and hope to lift 2 titles in 3 years with the team and add to my NW200 race wins.

Career highlight to date: Winning every race to lift the superstock 1000 title in 2009, winning the superbike race at the NW200 in 2010 and my first british superbike win in my rookie year.
