IMPROVED TOILET FACILITIES AND ACCESS FOR DISABLED VISITORS TO THE 2019 fonaCAB INTERNATIONAL NORTH WEST 200 IN ASSOCIATION WITH NICHOLL OILS

The organisers of the 2019 fonaCAB International North West 200 in association with Nicholl Oils have been working with the Mae Murray Foundation to improve access and toilet facilities for spectators with a disability at the startline grandstand.

A Mobiloo toilet facility will be sited beside the disabled viewing area of the main Start line grandstand.

The service will be in place on the Thursday and Saturday of race week beside the dedicated platform where the front row of the stand- seats A114 – A152- are clearly marked for disabled bookings.

These seats are reserved for friends, family or carers accompanying wheelchair users or person of restricted mobility. There is no charge for the wheelchair user, only for those accompanying them.

A roadside drop off area in front of the grandstand, where wheelchair users can safely disembark before their vehicle is parked in the allocated disabled car parking, is also being established.

The Mobiloo toilet facilities will provide a range of improved facilities for users.

Grabrails to help those who can transfer

Hoist to lift those with very limited mobility to the toilet or bench

Space for powerchairs and carers to make changing stress-free

Floating sink that can be rolled under for ease of use

Adjustable adult changing bed that caters for all sizes and ages

Lift into vehicles

Non-slip flooring

Cleaned after every use maintaining hygiene for the wheels for those who push their chair manually.

Autism and social complex needs:

Adult sized bench for those who require assisted changing

A safe quiet open private space

No long queues to relieve pressures on parents

Friendly trained attendant

No noisy appliances such as hand dryers

Low lighting

Sensory friendly decor

Blind and visually impaired:

Plenty of space for the user and their service animal

Cleaned after every use so users can be sure their service pets are using a clean facility.

Open space with no tripping hazards

Attendant present at all times.
