LAST CHANCE TO BOOK YOUR TICKETS FOR BRIGGS EQUIPMENT NORTH WEST 200 MEET THE STARS NIGHT ON MARCH 6!

North West 200 News

Have you booked your last-minute tickets for the Meet the Stars launch of the 2024 Briggs Equipment North West 200 on March 6? If you haven’t, you’d better get the revs on as there are just a few left!

It is a night you won’t want to miss as a host of road racing stars join Glenn Irwin and Davey Todd on stage in the Lodge Hotel, Coleraine.

Honda Racing’s Manx hopeful, Nathan Harrison and Jeremy McWilliams, Northern Ireland’s veteran star of track and roads, are the latest names to be added to the starting line-up to compare notes on life at opposite ends of their motorcycle racing careers.

Come race week McWilliams will have celebrated his 60th birthday just a month before he takes to the famous 8.9 mile Triangle course.

“Standing on the top step of the podium at the North West 200 is up there with anything I have experienced in motorcycle racing.” the former Grand Prix rostrum-finisher says. A three-time NW200 winner, McWilliams is determined to savour more of that feeling in May.

Nathan Harrison was making his debut in Honda Racing colours at last year’s NW200 when he crashed out of the Thursday evening Superstock race at Dhu Varren. A broken wrist and collarbone sidelined him from the roads for the rest of the season. Honda has kept faith with their young talent and Harrison will return to Portrush in May where he will be more determined than ever to make his mark.

Paul Jordan has also experienced plenty of road racing’s highs and lows during his career. The 32 year old NW200 and TT rostrum finisher hopes to make 2024 a season to remember as he switches from Yamaha to Honda power with the Jackson Racing team. The Magherafelt man will make his roads debut with the squad at Portrush alongside new teammate, Julian Trummer.

Sadly, 2024 looks set to be the second season in a row without any road racing action taking place south of the border but Skerries favourite, Michael Sweeney, is determined to be back in the thick of the action at the North West 200.

The former Irish champion suffered a big off during the Saturday Supertwin race at last year’s event. It is difficult to comprehend how these modern day gladiators shrug off the pain and battle their way back into contention. ‘Micko’ will join us on stage at the Lodge hotel to talk about his 2024 comeback.

One man who knows exactly what is involved in getting to the top in bike sport- and staying there for decades- is NW200 favourite, Michael Rutter. The ‘Blade’ will celebrate his 52nd birthday just a month before he joins us in March.

The veteran BSB and roads star shares the record of nine Superbike wins at the North West 200 with the late, great Joey Dunlop.

As the winner of the last eight NW200 superbike races after last year’s double, Glenn Irwin is closing in on his goal of becoming the event’s most successful superbike racer. Can Rutter stop the Carrickfergus man from claiming a new record?

Or will Alastair Seeley, the NW200’s most successful racer of all time, pull a rabbit from the hat and chase down his 30th NW200 success? The Wee Wizard says he still hasn’t finalised his plans for this year’s event but all will be revealed on March 6 as a host of newcomers and some late entries join the line-up for our launch night.
