LOCAL COMPANY CP HIRE CONTINUE 48 YEAR SUPPORT FOR 2024 BRIGGS EQUIPMENT NORTH WEST 200

CP Hire, the Coleraine-based plant and tool hire company, has been supporting the Briggs Equipment North West 200 for 48 years, including a spell as title sponsors during the 1980s.

The local business, which was established by Norman Hutchinson, will be on board as a race sponsor once again in 2024, supporting Saturday’s Superstock race during this year’s May 6-11 race week.

Eight times North West Superbike champion, Glenn Irwin and North West 00 race boss recently visited CP Hire’s Coleraine premises where the Hager Ducati rider thanked Area Manager, Richard Hunter and Stephen McMullan, Purchasing Manager, for their continued support of the races.

Hunter couples his business duties at CP Hire with volunteer work as a member of the Coleraine and District Motor club, the organisers of the north coast races.

“CP Hire is a local company that prides itself on supporting local sporting events and the North West 200 is the biggest of those.” Richard explained.

“After joining the club I went from there to becoming part of the organising committee and then a member of the management team.”

“Nowadays I look after the course hardware which is deployed around the 8.9 mile circuit each year. It is a job which takes up a lot of time when it comes to race week but it’s a job I really enjoy.”

Honda Racing’s Dean Harrison and John McGuinness, local hero Michael, NW200 outright lap record holder, Peter Hickman, Ian Hutchinson and Milwaukee BMW star, Davey Todd are amongst the leading contenders for this year’s CP Hire backed Stocker event.
